NOGALSS 2024 General Assembly

The Nigerian Non-Governmental Organization for Literacy Support Services (NOGALSS) convened its highly anticipated Second General Assembly Meeting on March 21st, 2024, at NOGALSS National Headquarters, Abuja. Attended by esteemed members of the Board of Trustees, National Executive Council, State Chairmen, NGOs, Volunteers, Government Agencies, and Civil Society Organizations (CSO). The General Assembly proceedings was observed by Federal Ministry of Education, National Commission for Mass Education, FCT Department for Mass Education, National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies, NATCOM-UNESCO and CSOs. This assembly marked a significant milestone in the organization's commitment to promoting literacy and education across Nigeria. The meeting served as a platform for robust discussions on various issues critical to the progress of NOGALSS and its mission. Deliberations included comprehensive reviews of organizational achievements, challenges, and strategic directions. Reports from different zones and the Headquarters shed light on the diverse initiatives and programs undertaken to advance literacy support services nationwide. A pivotal outcome of the assembly was the drafting and signing of a comprehensive communiqué encapsulating the key resolutions and decisions reached during the meeting. This communiqué serves as a testament to NOGALSS' commitment to transparency, accountability, and collective progress in advancing literacy support services across Nigeria. While thanking all the participants of the meeting, we appreciate the National Mass Education Commission that served as the Chairman of the communique drafting committee. As NOGALSS continues its tireless efforts to combat illiteracy and promote education as a fundamental human right, the organization remains steadfast in its resolve to collaborate with stakeholders, government agencies, and civil society organizations to achieve its noble objectives.
