NATCOM UNESCO AND NOGALSS STRENGTHEN COLLABORATION TOWARDS A LITERATE NIGERIA

 Abuja, Nigeria – In a significant move to bolster literacy efforts in Nigeria, the National President of the Nigerian Non-Governmental Association For Literacy Support Services (NOGALSS), Comrade Noah Emmanuel, visited the Nigerian National Commission For UNESCO (NATCOM UNESCO) Office in Abuja. The visit highlighted the ongoing collaboration between NOGALSS and NATCOM UNESCO, which operates under the Federal Ministry of Education. This partnership is crucial for advancing the shared goal of achieving a literate, educated, and empowered Nigeria.Nigeria became a Member State of UNESCO on the 14th of November 1960, shortly after attaining independence in October, 1960 During the meeting, the Secretary General of NATCOM UNESCO Dr . Olagunju Idowu warmly received Comrade Noah Emmanuel and expressed a strong commitment to supporting NOGALSS and its registered NGOs. The Secretary General emphasized the importance of collective efforts in tackling literacy challenges and assured that NATCOM UNESCO would provide the necessary backing to drive these initiatives forward. Comrade Noah Emmanuel, speaking on the collaboration, stated, "This partnership with NATCOM UNESCO is a vital step towards realizing our mission of a literate Nigeria. With the support and resources from NATCOM UNESCO, we are poised to make significant strides in our literacy campaigns and educational programs across the nation." The collaboration between NATCOM UNESCO and NOGALSS is expected to bring about substantial improvements in literacy rates, providing educational opportunities and empowering individuals across various communities in Nigeria.
