Executive Summary

Women of vision Association (WOVA) is a not-for-profit non-governmental Organization (NGO). The Association was established in May 2006 but it was officially registered in Nigeria under Cooperate Affairs Commission (CAC) on the 4th December 2008 with registration number C.A.C/IT/No. 30424. 

Women of Vision Association (WOVA) is a group of hardworking, talented and progressive women and youth who seeks to uplift the living standard of ordinary women and youth from their apparent subordinate status and empowers them to overcome the challenges of the modern society. The Association is committed to working extensively with women and youth across all segments of the Nigerian society through trainings that help them develop a stronger identity and confidence to make their own life decisions and thus contribute their quota to the development of our nation

 WOVA is a member to some national and international bodies such as NOGALSS, CSACEFA, Green Environmental Network, WACSOF, IANSA, just to mention but few.

Women of Vision Association (WOVA) believes that when a woman is educated and empowered, she can rise to her feet in helping the husband in income generating and help paying the school fees of the children in school and so keep the home focus and crime reduction in the society.

 

OUR WORK

Since inception, Women of Vision Association (WOVA) involves in Community Mobilization for awareness creation on Government policies and training the rural populace to acquire skills which will make them useful to themselves and their community. WOVA has also embarked on programmes and activities in the following areas;

  • Good Governance

Towards a Nigeria where women are treated equal with their male counterparts irrespective of their gender status.

Our Mission

To mobilize and empower the populace especially women and youth at the grass-root level through thoughtfully planned programmes/projects on Education, Health and Good Governance with a view to transform their current level of socio-economic and political status to an effective and contributive status for nation up-building.

Our Aims & Objectives

OUR AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

1.         To put a stop to customs and rites that infringes upon the rights of women in the society;

2.         To help prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS, breast/cervical cancer and other sexually transmitted diseases through enlightenment campaigns, conferences and seminars;

3.         To collaborate with government agencies, relevant bodies both national and international to promote women education and that of the girl child;

4.         Ensure equality in the society through education and empowerment;

5.         Embark on humanitarian projects such as environmental protection in rural and urban communities;

6.         Support and defend women from domestic violence and abuse;

7.         Campaign against drug abuse;

8.         Carryout any other legitimate actions that will compliment Government efforts in development.
